  • Welcome Friends…

  • Thank you for visiting us over at L Kae Interiors – I’m so glad you stopped by!

I hope you have a minute to check out our work, read about some current projects, and are inspired along the way!

So, grab a cup of coffee and dive right in… you never know what you might find!

We’ve been updated!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

I am SO excited to finally roll out the new look of L Kae Interiors! Its been in the works for a little while now, and I am so thrilled to finally be sharing it with you.

First off, I have to say I am very blessed to have an amazing group of friends that support me everyday with all my ventures.  I am also super fortunate to have close friends that are very artistic and overly talented in other creative fields! It is inspiring to surround yourself with people that love what they do and have fun during the process!  I have to send out a HUGE thank you to two wonderful ladies whom made this “brand revamp” possible.  I met both of them first year at SCAD and it makes me giddy that they are still in my life and we are all doing what we love to do everyday.

The AMAZING new logo was created by Mackenzie Brookshire.  She did such a beautiful job at capturing the spirit of L Kae Interiors and I couldn’t be any happier!

Next Thank you goes out to the wonderfully talented Genya Garrett with Vue Photography.  This is the third shoot that I have completed with Genya and I just don’t think there is anyone out there that can capture light, laughter, and personality like she can.    I am just in awe every time I see what she comes up.

I hope you all like the new look!  As always, I love to hear your thoughts.

Enjoy your day!

Kitchen Remodel complete!

Hi All!

Well summer has flown by and I can’t believe that we have already landed in September! It really felt like fall this week – which I am absolutely thrilled about.  This northern girl is way over this Georgia Heat! Summer was filled with lots of remodels and many of them are wrapping up.

These are some Before and After shots of a kitchen remodel I just finished.   The original space was a small U-Shape with the laundry room in a small closet (located behind the star burst mirror).

We bumped the back wall of the house out a few feet, added some doors that let in a ton of natural light and reworked the entire kitchen laundry layout.   The new layout is much more open and although the space is new, it flows really well with the existing spaces and overall is an amazing transformation!

We had more length than width in the space so visually we decided it would be better to create a pantry out of cabinetry rather than a “closet” type space and I think it worked out great!!

If you are looking at the before pics, this new wine bar area is where the old laundry closet was.

Love this Apron front sink from Rohl.  It is a perfect addition to the space!! We also did a large framed chalk board (magnetic as well!) you can see in the back.  That door lead to the new laundry space tucked away in the corner.

The back splash was a clean and simple subway tile, but we used a contrasting grout to tie in the tons of the counter top and add a little more visual interest!

The rest of the main level of the house is hardwoods, but we opted for a travertine floor in this room and I am so glad we did!

Hope you love it as much as I do! I’ll be back soon with some more images of what’s been going on over here at L Kae.  Stay Tuned and Enjoy your day!

Best,

Slide on Over….

Hi All!

Once in awhile I get stuck on a design element and all I want to do is find a space to implement the idea! Right now, I am Craving to stick a Barn Door somewhere!! I just love them:)

Robin - Me! Me! I’ll take some too. I just love them. Don’t know where I would put it but I’m sure I could find a place. How are you planning to use them?

Denise - I have been scheming and putting together a plan to get a couple of these brilliant sliders installed in my house. I even went on a scouting trip to the Rebuild It Center in Portland to see what their inventory looked like and to check out their prices.

Megan - That is too funny. My husband and I were looking at this house to buy today, and the master bedroom had no door to the bathroom and I told him… Oh this would be perfect for a sliding barn door to give it some privacy. :)

Thanks for the inspiration!!(Fingers crossed that we get the house)

Foyer B&A…

Happy Friday!!

Thought I would share a quick Before and After of a Entrance Hall I finished up a little while ago (a snippet of the 1600 pics I just uploaded, mentioned in the last post).

The Bench the customer had was actually the perfect scale for the space – Just needed a revamp! So we recovered it and added some antiqued brass nail heads along the base.  Tied it all together by adding some more color with art and accent pillows.  Final result is a much more inviting space!

Hope you have a great weekend!! Enjoy your Day!

Island or Dining Table??

Hello Long Lost Friends!!

As many of you may think, I did not pack up and move away to Greece (although that wouldn’t be a bad out!)…  Things have just been uber busy outside of my blog world! Things have surely picked up which is fantastic!! We have lots of projects in the works: Some small, some not so small, some remodels AND some new construction!! I Love it:)

In the interim, my  trusty blog was put on the back burner, but not forgotten! I promise to be checking in MUCH more often with inspirations and much more of what we are doing in real life!! In fact, I just uploaded 1600 pictures off my Iphone of projects, things I see, products, etc…. Oh do I have things to share!

So now, off to some Inspiration!!
As we all know, the main congregation spot in a house tends to be the kitchen, whether it is to accommodate the day to day bustle of life or on the flip there is a party happening! If space allows, generally an Island is plunked in the middle.  It may be practical to house items such as a sink and dishwasher.  Although, sometimes it just gets thrown into the design because that is what is expected.  In comes the dining table…. I think it is a cozy and functional alternative!
